Arsenal v Liverpool team news – Eduardo and Nasri to start

The Carling Cup match tomorrow between Arsenal and Liverpool is building up into an interesting game. Rafael Benitez is desperate for his team to build on their win over Man Utd last weekend, and get some momentum going while they are in form, and Arsene Wenger wants his team to quickly recover from their extremely disappointing draw with West Ham after leading 2-0 at half-time.

Liverpool have said that their £20m signing, Alberto Aquilani, will finally be able to join the squad, and Arsene Wenger has said that he is going to be able to introduce some big name players that are returning from injury.

Thomas Rosicky has still not recovered so will be unavailable, as will Theo Walcott. The very bad news for the youngerv members of the squad is that Jack Wilshere and Armand Traore are have both picked up knocks and won’t be in the team.

Wenger said: “Nasri comes back but Traore, who played in the last round is out,” said Wenger. “He has a groin problem.

“Fabianski will get a game too, he will start. But Jack had a knock on his ankle and will be out unfortunately. It is a question of days but we made a trial with him on Sunday and we are resigned to the fact he will be just too short to play.

“Eduardo and Bendtner will be back. But we still have Rosicky, Denilson and Walcott out.”

David Ngog, who scored the second goal for Liverpool against Man Utd will also start for Liverpool.

Another interesting addition to Arsenal’s team will be Phillipe Senderos alongside Mikael Silvestre. Carlos Vela, Sanchez Watt, Fran Merida, Aaron Ramsey and Kieran Gibbs are also available to make up a strong-looking mixture of senior players and youngsters for Arsenal.

The last time these two teams met in the League Cup in 2007, the Arsenal young Gunners ran out 6-3 winners. If tomorrows game is half as exciting we could be in for a treat.
