Dossena desperate to leave Liverpool (again!)

The Liverpool defender Andrea Dossena has always been unhappy with the amount of playing time he gets at Anfield, and with the World Cup coming up in South Africa next summer, he is intent on going back to Italy to get some regular football.

Despite being out of favour with Rafael Benitez, and unloved by the Kop faithful, Dossena still gets picked for the Italy national team, and he wants to make sure that he included in the squad for South Africa.

Dossena came back from injury to finally get included in the Carling Cup clash with Arsenal, but even then he wasn’t given a chance to get on the field, and the frustration has risen again.

Dossena made no secret that he wanted to leave last summer, and now his agent, Frederico Pastorello, has made his views public again.

“It’s clear that the player would like to return to Italy,”.

“He is playing very little at Liverpool and he doesn’t want to miss the train for the World Cup.”

It is a fact that there are not many Liverpool supporters that would complain if he left. In fact they are more likely to ask: Why didn’t he leave sooner!
