Everyone is talking about Steven Gerrard making his 500th appearance for the Liverpool, but Alex Curran is also celebrating being top of the WAG parade for the last seven years, and after having two daughters with Stevie, she has been talking about how she was encouraged by Steven to lose her mummy-tummy and become just as gorgeous as before she had the kids.

Here is how she described how she did it: “When I returned from celebrating my first wedding anniversary with Steven, I saw pictures of me in a red bikini. I was horrified to see rolls of fat!”

“I had been eating rubbish food for years and my tummy had never fully recovered after having two children.”

“Last year, I’d never have dared to be photographed in a swimsuit but now I’m happy with the way I’m shaping up.

“The hardest area for me to lose weight was around my stomach because I’ve had children. But now I’ve got quite a toned tummy, which I’ve never had before.

“I’m thrilled,”

“When I started training, I could barely jog a mile – now I can run for three or four miles,” .

“I’m full of energy afterwards and my arms are toned and my bottom is a lot firmer. It was very wobbly before.”

“Steven used to say I should work out because it makes you feel better but he never pressured me. Now he’s really encouraging. I don’t think he ever believed I’d end up enjoying it!

“He’s a great role model. He trains every day and that’s helped motivate me.”

“I think everyone is self-conscious when they hit the beach,” she laughs, “but I felt a lot better this year because of all my hard work.”

“I used to eat three McDonald’s a week,” she admits. “I’d also think nothing of having a Chinese takeaway for lunch with my girlfriends. Steven used to say, ‘I can’t believe you’re not fat, you should be the size of a house!’”

“I’ve cut out all bread and pasta, and I try not to have any carbs in the evening. I used to like stodgy stuff but I’m not tempted now. I don’t want do undo all my good work.”

“I have to have a piece of chocolate every day,” she admits. “I never used to before I had Lilly-Ella and Lexie but now I just crave it.

“I try to snack on fruit instead of sweet treats but I don’t think the odd piece of chocolate or glass of champagne does any harm.

“I’m not a big drinker, though, and I never have alcohol in the house. I only drink when I go out – vodka with lime and soda.”

“Of course, I love my clothes and everyone knows I love going to Cricket! But since I’ve been working out, I haven’t had that much time to go into town.

“I go once every two weeks now as opposed to several times a week!”

“I am hooked now. This time last year I’d get to the top of the stairs and be out of breath, now I’ve got so much more energy and even my skin looks clearer.

“It’s the best thing I’ve done and Steven is really proud, too.”

Good for you Alex, you are certainly putting on a good show for the Liverpool fans. We can’t have Stevie being married to a flabby WAG, can we?
