Goodbye Voronin and thanks for the transfer fee

Reports are coming through that Andriy Voronin has completed his £2 move to Dynamo Moscow.

Voronin never really produced and many including ourselves are not that sad to see him go, he scored just six goals in his stay with us and that just was not a decent enough return.

He says could have gone to Germany but turned those options down.

“I had options in both in Germany and in Russia, but I’ve chosen Dynamo,” he said.

“I was pleased with the professional approach of Dynamo officials during the talks. Also I talked to Dynamo’s head-coach Andrey Kobelev with whom I a similar view of football.

“I’ve talked to many of my friends, and I’ve heard nothing negative about the Russian championship. I’ve spoken with (Sergey) Rebrov, (Andriy) Gusin, (Anatoliy) Timoshchuk, (Diniyar) Bilyaletdinov and none of them discouraged me from going there.”

So he has gone at last and for £2 Million, add that to the £4.5 Million we got from the Dossena a sale to Napoli and thats £6.5 Million raised.

Chances are £1.5 Million will go on Maxi Rodriguez and so we are left with a surplus of £5 Million.
Not a lot to reinforce the squad is it?

But at least it is one month worth of interest payment on the huge debt we have.
