The 20 year-old Danish defender Simon Kjaer is getting noticed by all the big clubs thanks to his brilliant performances for Palermo this season, and both Liverpool and Man Utd are rumured to have had scouts in Italy to watch him.

Kjaer is a Liverpool fan, but won’t let his preferences get in the way of his career. He said: “If United just had two defenders whilst Liverpool had three, I would choose United without hesitation,”

“It does not help to choose with the heart in that kind of situation. I am a professional.”

The Inter Milan legend (I’ve never heard of him, but them i’m not Italian) Sandro Mazzola, has told the world that Kjaer is destined for greatness.

“I really like him as a player, and I would love to see him playing with a great team. He deserves to be doing so,” Mazzola said.

“If a player can demonstrate their quality as he does in any team, then he must be a great player.”

Reports in Italy say that Kjaer has an £11m buy-out clause in his contract, and if he is as good as they say, that could prove to be a bargain.
