Liverpool to raid Arsenal for Eduardo

With all the injuries in Rafael Benitez’s team, the Liverpool transfer rumours seem to be picking up speed every week, and the Sunday papers usually come up with the most outlandish stories.

Today’s rumour from the News of the World says that Liverpool are expected to make an approah for the Arsenal and Croatia striker Eduardo, who is said to be unhappy with his first team chances at the Emirates since returning from his broken leg in February this year.

The phenomenal hitman has only made three Premiership starts this season, and with just 18 months left on his contract, the NOTW says that he will be “seeking assurances” from Arsene Wenger that he will be featuring in his future plans before committing himself to an extension.

This story was obviously written before today’s news that Robin Van Persie has suffered a serious injury with Holland last night, and is expected to miss the next three months of the season.

And with Nicklas Bendtner also out for a month, it seems certain that Eduardo will be starting every game for Arsenal in the forseeable future, if he can keep fit himself.
