Liverpool V Wolves Preview

Will the visiting coach once again field his reserves in this away fixture to be able to use his regulars at full-strength in his home game vs Man City in 48 hours.

If this is the case, then maybe Liverpool will win it, but –of course- the odds are impossible to use on Liverpool these days even if they were playing Darlington (at the very foot of League Two standings), which they’re not. The Reds did lose vs the foot of EPL last weekend, didn’t they?.

The bad news for Benitez is that he will have to do without Mascherano, after the Argentine got red carded in the defeat to Pompey. The good news is there are no fresh injuries to his squad, so only Riera and El Zhar remain sidelined.

McCarthey also has no fresh injuries, meaning only Edwards, Keogh Kightly and Murray remain sidelined, but the question remains: Will he be using his regulars or will he opt to rest them as he did at Old Trafford.

My personal view: Getting something against Liverpool anywhere nowadays is easier than playing Man City anywhere. If I was in his place I’d be playing my best players against Liverpool anyway, and then again against the Citizens. After all, you will get your break for 2 weeks afterwards.

As I said before, I always have a soft spot for a falling ginat. Not Liverpool in particular, as I did have it for Arsenal quite often as well, but I feel the Liverpool [fans] deserve much more than what they’ve been getting from their team so far.

Not willing to take them to win over the side that has just recently conquered Spurs at the Lane though, and I suspect you’d feel the same if you were given the stats without the squad names: Wolves have won 3 out of their last 4, while Liverpool lost 3 out of their last 4.

I would certainly rather back the visitors on the handicap.
