Word is that Glen Johnson will return for us in approximately two weeks time and given time to get his match fitness up to standard we should have the young England International back at full throttle within 4 weeks.
Fernando Torres is making good headway and we expect him to be back also within 4 weeks and be back at the top of his game for the last two months of the season,
Sam applies with Yossi Benayoun who is further along and should be able to get a game in much sooner than Torres but again he will not be risked too early as Benitez has explained
“There is a difference between players being available and players being ready to play a game. If they come back early and are ready to play, that is good news for us but we have got to make sure that we do not push them back too soon.
“We need to make sure they will be okay for the last two months of the season. They are all getting that bit closer.”
“But when you have a broken rib, like Yossi, or you have the meniscus problem that has kept Fernando out, you cannot reduce the time (it takes to get over the injury).
All in all the major injury worries are working themselves out and if our luck holds out we should have the best players playing for us when we need them the most, in the run in.
