Play to your talents Babel, that’s all you need to do

Fans on the whole are not stupid, they know the difference between a class player and a journeyman player, they also know the difference between a player that tries and a player that fails to play to his true ability.

A player that fails to play to his true ability is the one player that will get the most stick, there can be no excuse for that and for that player to whine when he is found out just makes it all the more galling.

Ryan Babel certainly falls in to that category, he has undoubted talent and could be a great player but he lets himself down and the team when he fails to produce a consistent performance.

Now however he has apparently had talks with the gaffer and in his own words he now knows what he has to do to claim a regular spot,

“I have had a good talk with the manager and I know what I have to do,” said Babel. “That is what I am going to concentrate on.

“I just have to try to be patient, keep working hard and doing my best.”

That last part is the most simple bit that he needs to learn, doing his best.

He has failed to do that and then for him to go whining on Twitter, to the press or whoever else will listen that he cannot get a regular place in the team just underlines the fact that footballers are not the brightest bunch.

Babel will be loved and could become a legend at Anfield, all he needs to do is what he has said himself.
Do the best he can do, simple really
