Rafa takes from positive from drawn Cup game
Sometimes it is difficult to find a positive outlook when results are simply not going your way but Rafa Benitez found no difficulty in doing just that after Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Reading who currently sit 20th in the Championship.
Speaking after the game Benitez said
“They were pushing and working very hard from the beginning until the end so we had to do our job.
“It was a difficult game and the most positive thing is that we will play another game at Anfield.
“We know that we have two clear chances to win trophies – the Europa League and the FA Cup – so we will try our best in both and keep improving in the league.”
That it is a positive thing to get a replay against a team that Liverpool should have been able to dispatch with relative ease tells you that things simply are not getting any better for the Reds.
But all said an done Benitez is right in that Liverpool have not been knocked out and live to fight another day.
