Redknapp – Torres will leave if Liverpool miss out on Champions League

Torres could leave?
The Liverpool legend Jamie Redknapp is extremely worried about his club after seeing them suffer their worst run of results for over 50 years, and thinks that the next three games could be crucial to the future of the club.
If Liverpool lose to Lyon and exit from the Champions League, and then lose to Birmingham and Man City in the next two league games, it could mean they are too far behind to capture a Champions League place for next season.
If so, he thinks that the team will lose their star player Fernando Torres.
“If Liverpool don’t finish in the top four this season – and they are the most vulnerable – what will happen to their top players?” he said.
“Will Torres want to play in the Europa League next season? Every club in the world would be after him; the World Cup would be his audition. And maybe Liverpool’s owners would be tempted to sell. They would get £50million plus.
“The club would be able to rely on Gerrard and Carragher to stay. Their attitude would be: ‘We helped get the club in this mess, we’ll help get them out of it.’
“They are the cornerstones of the club, but will many of the foreign players feel the same?”
