Should Benitez start worrying?
The Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is under fire from all sides after six defeats in seven games, and there are many fans calling for his head.
Maybe he can’t be blamed for the injuries to Steven Gerrard and Glen Johnson, but has his handling of Fernando Torres’ injury been sensible.
It smacked of desperation letting Torres play against United last week despite having a serious injury that should take time to reach full recovery. Has he made it worse for Torres (and Liverpool) by letting him risk aggravating it further?
And today, would it have been more sensible to leave Torres on the bench and then see if he needed to be risked later in the game if Liverpool needed a boost.
According to Bobby Zamora, Benitez’s tactic of playing Torres from the start actually gave Fulham the boost they needed when Torres was taken off!
Perhaps, if you look a little deeper, you could blame Benitez for not having a squad with enough strength in depth, that he could afford to lose Gerrard and Torres for a few games each season. It has been mentioned that Benitez has bought 67 players since he arrived. Couldn’t he have managed to secure 22 brilliant ones during that time?
Some say that Liverpool are weakened this season because Xabi Alonso went to Real Madrid. Well it could be said that he wanted to leave so desperately because of the treatment from Benitez last summer, when the Spaniard tried hard to sell Alonso to secure Gareth Barry’s services, thus making Alonso feel unwanted by the club?
Perhaps i am being harsh on Benitez, but perhaps i’m not? What do YOU think?

Of course you are absolutely rite. Let me add another point. I think that there are players in the first 11 who are already showing signs that they have had enough of this manager…It would be good if he and the 2 americans go…..or maybe be great for LFC if we drop to the lower half of the table this season….anyways, with rafa still around and the americans, we are gonna lose Masch, Reina, Benayoun and if the big spending clubs can coup it off, gerrard and torres. I bet you, at least 2 of the above mentioned players will leave in the Jan window. Wanna bet?

Please rafa we love liverpool with all our hearts and even cry when we lose. Promise us if we do not win next wednesday just quit your job as we want to see liverpool winning. I agree that there ar some players that are against you so they are not playing good as they used to
